Tiny Tree Halifax Newsletter – July 2022

Tiny Tree Halifax Holiday Club

Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to the July edition of our newsletter, which is full of exciting and informative news and includes details on our forthcoming events.

Sun Protection

With the weather becoming warmer, please would you provide a sun hat for your child, clearly labelled with their name. Nursery will provide sun cream, which is Asda or Aldi sensitive, sun protection factor 50. Should you wish to use a different brand, please provide an unopened bottle, labelled with your child’s name to keep here at nursery. We ask that you apply sun cream, when necessary, prior to your child attending their nursery session. We are obligated by our regulator to ensure all children wear sun protection cream whilst playing outdoors, so your understanding and help with this important issue is very much appreciated.

Holiday Club and Out of School Care

We still have some spaces available in our Before and After School Club. For details about the schools we serve, availability and session timing, please call at the office. We offer a Before and After School Club for Holy Trinity and St Mary’s. In addition, we are still taking Holiday Club bookings for the summer holidays for all school age children; this will run from Monday 25th July until Friday 2nd September. If you would like to book your child in, please call the office.

Activities & Planning

This month we will learn about mini beasts. This is the perfect project for summer, with lots of scope for play and investigation of outside spaces. Looking at mini beasts provides opportunities to learn about how we care for other creatures and for our environment

It is the ideal opportunity to keep your child’s key person updated about any visits your child has been on, which could help us with their interests for our planned activities. Any photos would be fantastic for us to use.

Dates for your Diary

Focus Area – America

On Monday 4th July we will discover American culture, traditions and cuisine. We will dress in the colours of the American flag, which are Red, Blue and White. Please would you support your child’s learning by encouraging them to dress in the American colours on this day.

Pre-school Graduation

For all children leaving to go to full time school in September, we will be holding a graduation party on Friday 22nd July. This event will take place outside, which of course means we are dependent on the weather. If you would like more information, please speak to your child’s key person.

Mobile Phones

Please be reminded that mobile phones should not be used whilst waiting to collect your child, and that you should arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the end of your nursery session, to allow sufficient time for collection and handover. Our regulator, Ofsted, regards the use of mobile phones as a child safeguarding issue and as such your help in this regard is very much appreciated.

Fees

Please be reminded that fees are due in advance. If you have any queries about this, please speak to Emma or Salma in the office. Late fees will be applied for late payments.

Staff Member of the Month

‘Staff Member of the Month’ for June was awarded to Catherine for supporting and helping new staff and helping other rooms when required.

‘Room of the Month’ for June was awarded to Baby Room for their continued dedication and fantastic set ups.

If you would like to nominate a member of staff, please do not hesitate to contact the office, or ask a member of staff for a nomination form.

Best wishes from Amy, Emma and the Nursery Team
