Shine Childcare is a family-run private nursery chain created, owned and managed by Graham and Amika Abbott, with four nursery sites based in Leeds, Huddersfield, Oldham and Halifax, two of which are rated by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas. We believe in helping children learn through fun and we love what we do. Shine Childcare was set up to bring families from all walks of life together to provide the richest environment for growth and development.

We love working with children from all backgrounds. Our nurseries have all got their own unique characteristics and are highly regarded in the areas they are based. These are Newbank House in Oldham, Little Angels and its holiday club, Angels with Attitude, in Huddersfield, Tiny Tree in Leeds and Tiny Tree in Halifax (previously known as Savile Park Day Nursery).

Each child has their own key person to help them feel at home and to make sure the children learn and grow safely with their nursery friends. Hiring the right people enables us to provide the best environment for your child and many of staff members have graduate and post-graduate qualifications.

With our highly qualified and skilled nursery nurses, as well as a dedicated management team who are always on the lookout for ways to make our services even better, everyone is focused on providing the most rewarding nursery experience for every child. We also continuously work with our staff to develop their skills and knowledge in line with current best practice.

Staff retention is one of our watchwords at Shine Childcare, and our directors, Amika and Graham, are very hands-on, with an open door policy for staff and parents alike. This means that everyone is confident within their roles within the nursery.
