Dear Parents/Carers

Welcome to the February edition of our Newsletter, which is full of exciting news and includes details on forthcoming events.

Partnership with Parents

Weather Changes

Over the next few weeks we are expecting the weather to turn much colder. Please would you therefore ensure that your child has appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear with them. Please also label all items with your child’s name; this includes coats, hats, scarves, gloves and wellies. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for the loss of any items.

Holiday Club

Bookings are now being taken for our Holiday Club, which will run from Monday 21tstuntil Friday 25th February. Children can attend our Club regardless of the school they attend; so if you have older children or have relatives and would like further details, please call in to the office. As there are limited places, please enquire early.

Out of School Care

We have spaces available in our Out of School Club, which runs daily during the school term from 7.30am until drop off and from pick up until 6pm. The schools we currently serve are Blackshaw Lane, Crompton Primary and St Joseph’s. Please call to the office for further information.

Day Nursery Reviews

We would be grateful if you would take the time to review us on daynurseries.co.uk. Potential parents often look at this site when making decisions for their childcare needs. Following the review submission, you will be asked to confirm via your email; this is to ensure it is a valid person completing the review. You can search my name, K, in the managers’ section which then directs you to our page. We appreciate all submissions that have been completed already.

Tell a Fairy Tale Day

During the week commencing 21st February, the children will be participating in a variety of activities to build on their imaginative skills. ‘Tell a Fairy Tale Day’ is an annual event, celebrated on 26th February. This year at Newbank House we will be creating our own fairy tale stories to share with our friends and families. If your child has a favourite fairy tale story they would like to share with us, here at nursery, these would be greatly welcomed.

Planning and Activities

During February we will focus our learning around changes in the weather, how this affects the enviroment and the creatures that inhabit our local area. Additionally, we will explore our outdoor area and listen, watch and feel what is around us. If you go on an outing with your little ones, please feel free to take photos for us to see; you are welcome to email them to the office on [email protected].

Dates for Your Diary

Focus Country

For February our ‘Focus country is China. Please encourage your child to dress in Red and Yellow, the colours of the Chinese flag on Friday 11th February. We will learn about this country using a wide range of activities on this day.

Chinese New Year

On Tuesday 1st February the children will be learning about Chinese New Year. For 2022 it is ‘the year of the tiger.’ On this day we will celebrate by completing our annual dragon parade; pictures will be added to Facebook for you all to see.

Valentine’s Day

We look forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day on Monday 14th February. Please encourage your child to dress in the colour, Red, on this day, when we will also be participating in various arts and craft.
