lots of one on one time at newbank house

Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome to the April edition of our Newsletter, which is full of exciting and informative
news and includes details on our forthcoming events.

Partnership with Parents

Holiday Club

Bookings are now being taken for Holiday Club, which will run from Monday 11 th until Friday 22 nd April. Please note that the Nursery will be closed on the bank holidays, Friday 15 th and Monday 18 th April. Children can attend our Club regardless of the school they attend; so if you have older children and would like further details, please call in to the office.

Out of School Care

We have spaces available in our Out of School Club, which runs daily during the school term from 7.30am until drop off and from pick up until 6pm. The schools we currently serve are Blackshaw Lane, Crompton Primary and St Joseph’s. Please call in to the office for further information.

Free Entitlement

Please note that the grant will not run between Monday 11 th and Friday 22nd April and that full fees will therefore apply during this time. The summer grant will begin on Monday 25 th April 2022.

Transitions

During March and April some of our children will have transitioned to a new group/area of the Nursery. Transition sessions are completed on a staggered intake to ensure all children are able to gain the best settling in period within their new areas. Each child gains the opportunity to spend time with their new key person beforehand, and a thorough handover is carried out with the staff, to ensure the care continues to be of the highest standard.

Planning

During April we will be focusing on colours, based around the Easter Festival. We will mix paints together to create new exciting colours and use these to decorate, thereby developing the children’s knowledge of colours. We will also have an Easter bunny activity, where the children will have the opportunity to count the bunnies hiding around the setting.

Dates for Your Diary

Focus Country

For April Our Focus Country is England. Please encourage your child to dress in RED and WHITE, the colours of the English flag on Monday 25 th April, when we will celebrate St George’s Day and learn about English culture and traditions.

Easter Bonnet Parade

We are holding our annual Easter Bonnet Parade on Thursday 7th April. This is a great opportunity for you and your child to be creative at home and create an Easter Bonnet that they can wear in the parade. The winner of the competition will be awarded a special certificate in recognition of their
effort and creativity.

Comic Relief

Thank you to all who took part in our Comic Relief Day and for all your donations to this worthy cause. We raised an amazing £96.00 for this wonderful charity.

Staff News

Staffs Update

Last month our staff team completed their annual Safeguarding Training; alongside this Kirsty has now refreshed her Designated Safeguarding Lead Training and will work closely with Natalie, Leanne and Becky, the Safeguarding Officers. If you do have any safeguarding concerns, please speak to one of the team who will be happy to assist.

We are also continuing to expand our wonderful team here at Newbank House. Please look out for the new staff, who will be happy to introduce themselves.

Staff Rewards

Staff Member of the Month

In March Leanne was awarded ‘Staff Member of the Month’ for her continuous support throughout the nursery. Please continue to make your nominations by using the nomination slips, located at the front entrance. Alternatively, you can ask your child’s key person for one.

Owl Competition

The March winners of our Owl Competition are Main House for always having fantastic activities available for all the children. Well done for achieving the most WOW moments!

Jane was awarded The Golden Owl for staying calm during a difficult situation and for always supporting the children.
