Welcome to the February edition of our newsletter. We hope you enjoy reading our exciting news and keeping updated on forthcoming events!
ACTIVITIES AND PLANNING
Over the next month we will learn about Valentine’s Day and discuss the people we love; this will also link into talking about our emotions.
We are also learning about our focus country, China, as we celebrate Chinese New Year.
HOME LEARNING
This month we will learn about nocturnal animals, what the word ‘nocturnal’ means and about which animals sleep through the day, and are awake at night.
STAFF NEWS
‘Room of the Month’ award was given to Over Two’s for ensuring the routine runs smoothly throughout the day and for great teamwork.
‘Staff Member of the Month’ was awarded to B who is working in our Toddler Room. She has been helping to restructure the room alongside the rest of the team and has shown passion and dedication within her role.

Last month staff updated their safeguarding training, to ensure that they are always keeping our children safe.
COLD WEATHER
We have already experienced the snow and cold weather; however we expect it to turn much colder. Please would you ensure that your child has appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear with them. if they are coming to nursery in wellies, please bring some other footwear to wear indoors. Please also label all clothing, where possible, including gloves, scarves and hats, with your child’s name, before bringing them in.

FOCUS COUNTRY
This month we will focus on the country, China, as we celebrate Chinese New Year. We will learn about the traditions related to this country and sample some Chinese food. Please feel free to send in your child wearing RED and Yellow on 1st February to support our activities.
HOLIDAY CLUB
Our Holiday Club for children of reception age and above will be available between 21st and 25th February. If you have older children who you need care for, please ask a member of staff for a booking form. If your child has not attended Club before, you will need to complete a registration form prior to starting.
BUILIDNG DEVELOPMENT
We always invest heavily in maintenance and care of our buildings, facilities and equipment. Recently, the mini kitchens in both the Baby and Toddler Rooms were replaced. Over Two’s has been redecorated and new flooring has been put down in the quiet area. Preschool has had a new quiet area added, the Holiday Club room has been repainted and the Staff Room has been completely revamped and modernised.
In addition, the outdoor lighting has been upgraded to LED.
COVID 19 UPDATE
Thank you to everybody for your continued support during these difficult times.
Polite Reminders:
Please can you wear face masks when dropping off and collecting children; our staff are also instructed to do this. Masks are also worn by staff when transitioning around the building to reduce any potential transmission.
Please continue to inform us if any member of your household, including your child, displays any Covid symptoms and please follow the Government isolation guidelines. If your child becomes unwell at nursery we will contact you straightaway for your child to be collected at the earliest opportunity, again following government advice.
