Tiny Tree Halifax Newsletter – June 2022

Ready to play at Tiny Tree Halifax

Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to the June edition of our newsletter, which is full of exciting and informative news and includes details on our forthcoming events.

Sun Protection

As the weather is getting warmer, we ask that you provide a sun hat for your child, clearly labelled with their name. Our Halifax Nursery will provide sun cream, which is Asda sensitive, sun factor 50. Should you wish to use a different brand, please provide an unopened bottle, labelled with your child’s name to keep here at nursery. We ask that you apply sun cream, when necessary, prior to your child attending their nursery session. We are obligated by our regulator to ensure all children wear sun protection cream whilst playing outdoors, so your understanding and help with this important issue is very much appreciated.

Holiday Club and Out of School Care

We still have some spaces available in our Before and After School Club. For details about the schools we serve, availability and session timing, please call at the office. We offer a Before and After School Club for Holy Trinity and St Mary’s. In addition, we are now taking Holiday Club bookings for the summer holidays for all school age children; this will run from Monday 25th July until Friday 2nd September. If you would like to book your child in, please call the office.

Activities & Planning

This month we will be learning all about oceans and the animals that live in them in line with World Ocean Day on Wednesday 8th June. We will talk about the creatures that live in the ocean and discuss how they live.

Dates for your Diary

Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd June – Nursery closed for bank holidays
Monday 6th June – Funded Term restarts
Friday 17th June – Father’s Day – Dress in blue
Friday 24th June – Focus Country – Israel

Focus Area – Israel

On Friday 24th June we will discover Israeli culture, traditions and cuisine. We will dress in the colours of the Israeli flag, which are Blue and White. Please would you support your child’s learning by encouraging them to dress in these colours on this day.

Polite Reminder

Please be reminded that mobile phones should not be used whilst waiting to collect your child, and that you should arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the end of your nursery session, to allow sufficient time for collection and handover. Our regulator, Ofsted, regards the use of mobile phones as a child safeguarding issue and as such your help in this regard is very much appreciated.

Please be reminded that invoices are due in advance. If you have any queries about this, please speak to Emma or Salma in the office.

Staff Member of the Month

‘Staff Member of the Month’ for May was awarded to Salma for her continued hard work as deputy.

‘Room of the Month’ for May was awarded to Toddlers for creating and following a great routine and enhancing activities.

If you would like to nominate a member of staff, please do not hesitate to contact the office, or ask a member of staff for a nomination form.

Best wishes from Emma, Salma and the Nursery Team
