Dear Parents / Carers
Welcome to the June edition of the Newbank Nursery Oldham, Newsletter. We hope you enjoy reading all the exciting news and keeping in touch with upcoming events.

Partnership with Parents

Sun Protection

With the weather becoming warmer, please would you provide a sun hat; nursery will provide sun cream, which is Asda’s own brand, sun protection factor 50. Should you wish to use a different brand, please provide an unopened bottle, labelled with your child’s name to keep here at nursery.

School Leavers

If your child is leaving to transition to school or Preschool in September, please would you make their key person aware of which school they will be attending at the earliest opportunity, so that we can arrange transition documentation to be ready for them.

Please also remember that 4 weeks’ written notice is required for all children leaving.

On Saturday 16th July we will be holding our annual Graduation Ceremony and Family Fun Day. If your child is graduating then please have them ready at Nursery for 10.15am, ready to start the ceremony at 10.30am.
Nursery will then open at 11.00am for non-leavers to join in the fun. On the day, we have some surprises lined up alongside the usual tombola and raffle and lots of other fun stalls. Any prize donations will be gratefully received.

Parents Evenings

We would like to thank you all for making Parents Evening a huge success. We hope you enjoyed speaking to your child’s key person and learning about the progress and development your child has made. Any feedback on the night would be greatly appreciated.

Focus Country

For June, the country of the month is Bangladesh. We look forward to learning about this country’s culture, traditions and national cuisine. If possible, please could you dress your child in Green and Red, which are the colours of the Bangladeshi Flag on Wednesday 22nd June. We look forward to learning about Bangladeshi culture and tasting some traditional, yummy specialties during afternoon tea.

Planning and Activities – Children’s Safety Week 6th – 12th June 2021

For June we will focus learning on how to keep children safe when at home, at nursery and out in the world. If you have anything in particular you would like the staff to focus on, please speak to your child’s key person, who will ensure this is implemented in their planned activities. In addition, photos of these activities will be uploaded to our Shine Facebook page for you all to see.

Queen’s Birthday

On Friday 10th June we will celebrate the Queens 96th birthday. We will be having a Birthday Tea Party. Please feel free to dress your child in party clothes on this day or the colours Red, White and Blue.

Father’s Day

For Father’s Day we will be holding a Sports Lunch on Friday 17th June. All Dads, Grandads and Uncles are welcome to spend the afternoon with us, interacting alongside the children, whilst enjoying some sports themed food and drink. The Sports Lunch will be held between 1.30 and 3.30pm. Please would you notify your child’s key person if you would like to attend.

Holiday Club

Bookings are now being taken for the Summer Holiday Club, which will run from Monday 25th July until Friday 2nd September. If you would like to reserve a place for your child, please contact the office.
