Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome to the February edition of our Newsletter, which is full of exciting news
and includes details of our forthcoming events.
Covid-19 Prevention Updates
Please would you continue to wear face masks when dropping off and collecting children to help reduce
any potential transmission.
We are also asking parents to be vigilant; if your child displays symptoms, please keep them off nursery
and take a PCR or lateral flow test before returning to the setting. We have some staff members that are
not fully vaccinated and coming in contact with a positive case means they will have to isolate.
Holiday Club
Bookings are now being taken for our next Holiday Club, which will run from Monday 21th until
Friday 25th February. If you would like to reserve a place for your child, or would like more
details, please speak with Jay or Kim at the office.
Staff Member of the Month Award
Congratulations to A who has been awarded ‘Staff Member of the Month.’ A is a new member
of staff and has stepped up to help her room whilst other staff members have had to isolate.
Planning and Activities
Throughout the month of February we will be taking a look at the customs and culture of Italy as
our focus country. On Monday 14th February 2022, we will celebrate Carnivale di Venezia which
is a popular Italian festival. Our Colour of the month is Red so we will be having lots of red
themed activities in place each week to promote learning opportunities. In addition to this, we will
be celebrating Chinese New Year which falls on Tuesday 1st February, and this year is the ‘Year of the Tiger.’
Polite Reminder
Please be reminded that mobile phones should not be used whilst waiting to collect your child, and
that you should arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the end of your nursery session, to allow
sufficient time for collection and handover. Our regulator, Ofsted, regards use of phones as a child
safeguarding issue and as such your help in this regard is very much appreciated.

- Focus Country – Italy – Monday 14th February 2022 – Join us to celebrate Carnivale di Venezia as we immerse ourselves in the rich culture of Italy.

Activity of the Month
Walk the Lines! Using tape or string make lines on the floor; these could be zigzag lines, wiggly lines or even shapes. Encourage your child to follow the lines with their feet to help promote good balance. You could do this in the park, following any painted lines on the playground or in your own garden, following chalk lines.
