School Place Allocation
By now you should have received the allocation of your child’s place for full time school in September. We can therefore now begin our transition to school process to help your child have the best start possible.
Going forwards, should you need our Out of School care then please speak with either Morgan or Sophie, who can check availability for the sessions you require.
Holiday Club
Our next Holiday Club will run from Monday 30th May – Wednesday 1st June for school age children. Please note we are closed on Thursday 2nd June and Friday 3rd June due to bank holidays.
To book a place or for more details, please speak to Morgan in the office or email us your requirements.
Sun Protection
As the weather is starting to get warmer, we ask that you provide a sun hat for your child, clearly labelled with their name. Nursery will provide sun cream, which is Aldi sensitive, sun factor 50.
Should you wish to use a different brand, please bring in your own unopened sun cream, labelled with your child’s name for us to use at nursery. We ask that you apply sun cream, when necessary, prior to your child attending their nursery session. Please note we are obligated by our regulator to ensure all children wear sun protection cream whilst playing outdoors, so your understanding and help with this important issue is very much appreciated.
Staff Member and Room of the Month Nominations
‘Staff Member of the Month’ has been awarded to Leanne D, the Senior Nursery Practitioner, in Over 2’s. Leanne has settled into her new role very well and has made a positive impact as a senior.
‘Room of the Month’ has been awarded to the Over 2’s room. They have had lots of new starters in April and have helped each child settle into the nursery incredibly well.
We would like to welcome Jackie, Julie and Amy to the nursery team. Julie is our new kitchen assistant. Amy will be working within our Over 2’s room and Jackie will be working within Pre-school.
Holiday Dates
Please let us know any dates when your child will not be attending nursery; this helps us when planning individual activities for your child. If you go to the beach, please think of us when collecting pebbles, shells etc, as these items always come in handy when we are setting up interesting activities.
Activities and Planning
This month our focus will be numeracy in line with National Numeracy Day on Wednesday 18th May. Throughout the month we will learn all about numbers and shapes, alongside other numeracy skills.
The Under 2’s room will also be learning Baby and Toddler Sign with Morgan this month. They will be learning familiar songs and everyday words in Sign Supported English and Makaton.

We are looking to use a lot more real resources during our everyday play. If you have any old phones (mobile or landline type), remote controls, hats, bags, purses, scarves, pans or other kitchen resources you think we could make use of, please let us know.
