Welcome to the April edition of our Newsletter, which is full of exciting and informative news and includes details on our forthcoming events.
Parent Consultation Day
On Saturday 23rd April we are holding a Parent Consultation Day. This is an opportunity for you to come and speak to your child/children’s key person and discuss their learning and development, as well as read through their learning journey together.
Please speak to your child’s Key Person to book in your slot between 9am and 1pm.
Please note we will also be holding a Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning on this same day. We will
have baked treats and have hot and cold drinks on offer to raise money for this very worthwhile charity.
Full Time – Parents of children starting full time school in September will find out their allocated school places on Tuesday 19 th April. Please inform us as soon as you know so that we can begin the transition process. Partnerships between home, nursery and school are really important for your child as they embark on the next step of their life journey.
Part Time – For those who have applied for part time school places, please could you let us know if your
child will be leaving us or if you require our wraparound service. This service covers morning drop off to,
and lunchtime collection from, St Joseph’s, Rowley Lane and Lowerhouses Schools. If you are eligible for the additional 15 hours funding, this can be used to contribute towards fees.
Please speak with Morgan if you need any further information about any of the above.
Project Sport Multi-Sports Sessions
Our weekly Multi-Sports sessions will begin again after the Easter Holidays.
Total cost for the half term will be £35.
Full payment and a completed slip is required when booking a place.
To reassure you all, the coach, Anthony, is fully DBS checked and the children are always supported by members of our team.
Staff Member and Room of the Month Awards
Our ‘Staff Member of the Month’ for last month was awarded to Emily-Jo from Pre-school. She has been recognised by visitors and children alike for her positive attitude and wonderful activity ideas.
‘Room of the Month’ was awarded to Preschool, where the staff have been providing fantastic learning experiences for the children.
Please keep nominating via paper or email.
Activities and Planning
This month we will learn about baby animals and spring.
We will talk about which babies belong to each animal.
Spring is the perfect time for baby animals to be born! Many animals have babies in the spring since the warmer weather makes it is easier for them to find food to feed them.
Warmer weather also makes it easier for small babies to survive.
2, 3, 4 Year Old Funding
The funding for the summer term starts on Monday 25th April. Please ensure that you have brought in the relevant identification if needed for your child, and that you have completed the parent agreement form, which we must have in order to be able to claim the funding. Also, if your child has turned 2 between 1st January and 31st March 2021 and you think you may be eligible for 2 year funding, please visit:
The Kirkless Government Website
This link will lead you to the section, ‘Apply for free learning and childcare.’ Please note you will require an email address to create an account.
If you already have an account for an older sibling you will need to log in and add another child.
If it is the first term your child is accessing the 30 hour grant, please ensure you bring your 11 Digit Funding Code and National Insurance Number to Nursery. You will then need to complete a simple consent form allowing us to check the code for eligibility.
